Sheep!

According to what I here you only need an acre to raise one Dexter

I have three shetlands and two dairybred types.

Remember that if you use them as lawnmowers they will a) eat any shrubs and flowers also (in fact, mine *prefer* them over grass) unless you have ELECTRIC fencing between sheep and shrubs/flowers; and b) leave "nanny berries" all over your lawn. Sheep poo really a *lot*. They are hard dry pellets like goats or rabbits, not yucky like chicken poo, but they are still not *nothing*, and you'd want to make sure you'll be ok with that.

They *will* kill the lawn (or at least badly ruin it in places) if you don't have enough area to rotate them through. Also, not having enough area makes it real difficult to manage internal parasites which are a BIG problem in sheep and most have some-to-major resistance to all wormers so it is *awfully* good to have plenty of area for pasture rotation. You would need somewhere to pen them and feed them hay during the "non growing season(s)" too.

Not trying to talk you out of it, just letting you know what you will need to research

Good luck, have fun,
