Shelby’s weekly writing prompt!

Thank you. Though I enjoy discussion, if I send a message to you, won't it be public to byc?

I have no problem with it but do not want to break byc rules.

I Love speaking of God, not a god.
I am Catholic and just typed the words of a non Catholic Christian song. So true words of many today... and last year and a decade ago.

May the One God, give us grace to persevere. ❤️🙏
I grew up Catholic, so I have a pretty good understanding of your church's beliefs.

They're known as Naked Ladies.
The leaves come up in spring, elegant, graceful, rounded at the tips - but barren of blossom, a promise seemingly not kept, towering teasingly over bright yellow daffodils, crimson tulips, the tiny pops of grape hyacinths. Then they disappear to be forgotten. Months pass, spring blows into summer. White dogwood, saffron forsythia and purplish redbud trees give way to crape myrtles and azaleas competing with one another with their lipstick hues of crimson, scarlet, vermilion. These fade too into the sultry dog days of summer. Grass turns brown and the sky is a merciless brass dome. Suddenly one day clusters of powder pink bossoms dot the landscape without warning - the Naked Ladies have arrived! Also called Surprise Lilies, they have popped up overnight, leafless, clustered like delicate petticoats at the top of a single stalk. Incongruous, yes. But welcome as a line of chorus girls reminding us that summer isn't over yet! Hello, Ladies!

All these flowers are descended from a single clump I found in the pasture next to us and dug up about 10 years ago.
