I have pullets from EE rooster/RSL hen {someone told me they were actually production red}
One of my pullets from this pair lays a nice olive green egg, which is what I expected. I have several other pullets close to lay but only one that is 20+ weeks and it is from this cross. The color of the egg I found today is below. Would a blue gene roster produce a pullet that layed this brown?
I have 2 jersey giants — 19wks and a cinnamon queen 18 weeks not layed yet— too nasty weather to check pelvis bones...

EEs aren't pure for blue eggs. They usually have one blue gene and most often brown, or white. The cross you made will result in brown layers and olive eggers.

Ok. Thanks good to know. Would you happen to know what gene other than blue would a sapphire super blue rooster carry?
