Shell cracked but not membrane??

She's been chirping and moving around, and I put vegetable oil on the membrane to hopefully prevent shrink wrapping, but how do I tell if it shrink wraps?
It isn't shrink-wrapped as if it were; that membrane would be stuck onto the chick. Since it got its beak out, that's the best part as now it's breathing fresh air and can get the rest of itself out. I'd just leave it be for what could be several hours.

The chick is out! But my new question is, will I be able to hand it back to it's mother? I have no chick's in the brooder for it to be friends with, my only other chick's are with their mother
Yes. Just let it dry and slip it right under her front this evening when she is sleepy.
Talk to the hen all the while doing it so she will know that it is you and not a predator.

Exactly what I was going to suggest! Waiting until tonight is best too because this gives your chick the day to rest up and get a little stronger! Congrats!

Alright! Thank you guys so much for the help

After you slip it under the mama, walk away but listen. If the chick is cozy under her, it will stop peeping. If it keeps peeping there's a chance it's been pushed out from under her. I made this mistake one time and walked away while the chick was still chirping. The next morning it was dead. I can't be 100% sure, of course, but I think the other chicks or the mom pushed it out and it got too cold.

Okay, I will be careful
