Okay... so I know soft shelled eggs are common with new layers... as are eggs laid in just a membrane.
I have also learned that it is quite normal for a pullet to lay occasionally on the roosts at night.
I got a few soft shell eggs in the first weeks of a chicken laying as well as additionally when the weather has been in the triple digits.
But the last week or so, I’ve come to the coop in the morning to find that a mixed eggy messy blob in 1-3 places on the poop board. Like a clear blob of egg whites with maybe a streak/swirl of yolk, but certainly no formed yolk. No sign of membrane or shell... either soft or solid.
I’ve got 11 pullets, a mix of breeds. 7 are laying. Even on days where I have these blob eggs, I have also gotten legit eggs from all my layers. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?
