shell less egg?

i got an egg today that was really soft. i guess thats a shell less egg? ive never seen one but ive heard about them. what causes this to happen? is my hen ok?

Many hens do this once in a while, esp. if they just started laying. I would not worry over a lone instance. However, if it continues, here is a link to a lot of info on this subject:
