Shell-less Egg

One of my hens just laid a shell-less egg in our garage. What would cause this? Should I be concerned?

This is not an uncommon thing to have happen - most of the time (healthy birds on a good diet) it is just a glitch in the system and nothing to be too concerned about. IF it becomes a regular occurrence, that is the time to start working through possible underlying issues and causes.

I've seen this happen one time, and never figured out why. Very interested in finding out the explanation.
