A few of my 18 free range laying Brown Shaver pullets became lethargic, hunched back, tail tucked under, standing on same spot for ages, eyes closing, possible diarrhoea, + started laying shell less eggs. They were better after 3-4 days on special diet + separated in warm shed, but egg production is still 9 instead of 18, with 5 shell less eggs, a day. They are on commercial pellets, with plenty of grit. Any idea what they had, + prognosis for egg production, [email protected] NEW ZEALAND.

Welcome to the BackYardChicken Forum:) Honestly, I've no idea what happened. Since they free range, it's possible they could have gotten into something? Are they all behaving normally again, with good appetite and behavior? If so, then I would think the problem with the eggs should clear up:)
