Just to finish up the tread since she recovered, for anyone else out there: I took my chickens off of Kalmbach henhouse reserve. I have not tried the pellets, they might be great but the henhouse reserve was not a good match for my chickens. I think they just picked through and ate what they liked and left the rest, which was where the vitamin’s were. A lot of waste is all over the run.
I put them back on their old pellets and added rooster booster to the water and all my MMMs are laying good eggs again.
I haven’t really been happy with any pellets I’ve tried yet. I have ordered scratch and peck but it’s not here yet. I’m hoping it’s a winner.
