Shelles egg question

So one of my pullets is laying an egg with a thick membrane instead of shell. I was under the impression that that was a condition of older hens and not pullets just starting to lay. I am feeding layer pellets and feeding the eggshells back to them. Havent given oyster shell yet. Will the shells fix the problem or is it a condition of the hen.

Hi James,

sometimes the pullet eggs are shell-less. It will probably self-regulate and in a couple of days she will lay totally normal eggs. HTH
