I found this completely shelless egg tucked in the duck nest along side all the other eggs. Should I be concerned? What causes this? How do I figure out who laid it? Is it just a fluke? This is a first for me.

Do you have any that are young enough that it could be one of their first eggs? One may just be sorting out their egg assembly line.

I have 2 khaki campbells that are 8-9 weeks old I think.

Also last the last 24-48 hours the young ducks and old ducks were fully together in the same pen for the first time, so there's definitely been a disruption of the routine.

As long as no one is showing other concerning symptoms I would me mindful but not worried. It could just be an oops from stress. Give them a while and see if anything develops. :D

What type of feed are you providing?

They do have a different feed than they are used to. They had Purina Flock Raiser, but for about a week (maybe a bit longer) they have had Nutrena Nature Wise All Flock. Plus they always have free choice oyster shells and their own eggshells fed back to them.

Also at least one of the ducks skipped laying yesterday, which is unusual. Since they started up spring laying I have consistently been getting an egg a day from all ducks of laying age.

Otherwise everyone seems healthy.

I don't know much about Duck egg production but w/my hens, they freak out on diet changes.. metabolism wise.

Hmm... maybe it's just the feed change and integration stress then. The Nutrena was buy one get one free at our feed store and quite close nutritionally to what they usually get so I couldn't pass it up.
