Shelless egg

I use the same feed as you, and all my girls eat the oyster shells I keep on the side, I guess they just need more. Sounds like your doing just fine :)

Speaking of salt. Chickens are highly sensitive to salt. They can't expel excess like a mammal with a bladder.
Chickens require very little salt in their feed, .02%, just doubling it will result in excess consumption of water and wet droppings.
Five times the requirement of salt can result in death according to Poultry DVM.

Awesome! It is a big one too! This might sound silly to some, but I was so excited about my first egg, I blew it out to keep. It sits in a champagne glass in my curio.
Maybe thats why it took so long! Not silly! I was in my bath robe when i went to let them out and when i saw the egg i was running yelling to my husband 😂
