I have heard that sometimes pullets will lay a shelless egg when they start to lay.. but I thought it would still have the membrane.
I went out to the nestbox today and found what looked like the contents of an egg.. no trace of a shell or membrane?
Should I be worried?
My hens were all running around looking healthy and happy...?

Don't worry. You will see some weird stuff at first. It's almost like the hens lay some practice eggs.....shell-less eggs, teeny-tiny eggs, wrinkly eggs.....it's very common. Have you switched to the layer feed? Also, you can provide a dish with some crushed oyster shells, and they will take that as they need it.

They are on layer feed= 2 have started to lay, and 4 the other 4 look like they will start soon. I don't know which laid this egg... Betty laid 9 days in a row, and yesterdays was late afternoon. Roxielaid her egg today. I wonder if it was one of the others?

I think it is fine for now. I've had both shelless egg with a membrane, and a simple yolk and white. Weirdest thing ever. However, it only happened once with both of them. I think it is the same as with fart eggs, "pullet bullets." and so on.
