My last batch of Cots are five and a half weeks old and a couple started laying yesterday. One of the eggs had no outer shell just the membrane. I am still feeding them GBS and started mixing in oyster shells about a week ago, what would cause this. I've had cots for quit a while and have never seen it.

Seen it in chickens over the years .Does not surprise me that it happens in quail.I always figured there still learning how. Thought maybe it was Calcium shortage and increased it .But no proof..cva34

ITS A NORMAL GLITCH... THE YOUNG AGE IS WHAT CAUSES IT. SHE'LL WORK IT OUT IN A FEW DAYS, NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, NOTHING NEEDS TO BE DONE
