I'm 99% sure she's a hen but if anyone can confirm? We've had her three days, no eggs. Also no crowing. Thanks guys, always great to have help Also, RIR?.

Yes, she's a hen. I think she's a little light in color to be a RIR, but she is probably a hybrid (bred for laying), so she could be a Golden Buff, a Cinnamon Queen, a Red Sex Link.... There are so many different names for them.....

Hi Mullys!

I am seeing white legs--is this true or just the camera and monitor I am using playing tricks?

For some reason (well, her body seems like she has a blocky Sussex in her) she looks like a RIR x Sussex sex link to me (I think they are called Goldlines) and that's my guess if she really has white legs. If they are yellow, I am guessing some other sex link.

dont let combs deceive you. This is my maran hen, shes got a bigger comb than any of our birds. And she lives in the dark!
So yeah, I dont think its a golden comet because of the shading.

She might be a production red but with that light of tail I'm thinking sex-link.
Either way not a Rhode Island Red.

Looks like an battery/production hen to me. Which if I'm not mistaken have rir but are a mixture of many breeds

It's a hen, that's for sure. Some production-based hatchery red bird. From that nice red comb, she should start laying pretty soon, probably just needs to get adjusted to new surroundings. But for a shelter bird, she looks in very nice condition
