There must be secrecy about this, my grown and nearly grown kids do not get it!

Hello to everyone here.

My user name was chosen on a whim, my mother used to say, "oh, lord love a duck!"

I came to this forum innocently enough, just to check it out, I have an interest in homesteading. I was surfing and came to this spot.
My vision has changed, I am now addicted!

What started as a simple idea of a few laying hens (chickens) has now become huge. Including, but not limited to:
ducks (obviously), geese (all kinds) and....emus!

I have one more child to put into college this fall, then I make my escape. bwa ha ha ha!

Said child caught me looking at silkies and said, "mom, what is that?"
I closed the page quickly, and said "nothing!"

Lucky for me, she is not that interested in what I do, bah! teenagers.

Now, will I be welcomed to Chickenstock in Lansing?
Oh boy, do I wanna go, but I have no birds (well, I figure two parakeets don't count for this).
Sigh.... I want to meet some of you lovely people.
People who know what it is to have a dream, a dream of birds, many many birds!
