Lisa--my latest batch are doing wonderful! I have 7 healthy little gals (

). They will be a week old tomorrow.

How will I tell if they are going to frizzle? Is it the tips of the wings?

Also, my last 2 that I hatched (first time didn't go so well, but still got 2!) Anyway, 1 of those little boogers is so small still! He's quite healthy and fiesty, just teeny!

How big do these little cochins get? I'm new to banties!

Thanks!
Becky

Hi Angela! That's great. I hope the rest of the hatch went well.
Hi Kim! I emailed you back. The first sign I can see here is the wing-tips at 3 or 4 days. Look for a curl (or hook) on the new feathers when they come in.
Hi Becky! Some of the Frizzle girls are tiny. They look bigger than they really are when they are covered in poofy curly feathers.

I've got another group of eggs from the Frizzle girls and Silkie girls available to ship tomorrpw (Sat, 9/27).

Post here or email if interested.

Thanks,

Hi Dipsy,
The babies are doing great. I have 2 that are very very frizzled, 2 of the others are just a little on the tips of the wings and the other 2 do not look frizzled at all. Is that how they will all stay? Any luck with the NN girls yet?

Hi Billie! It's been my experience here --- if they are going to Frizzle, you can see it fairly early. The others will be smooth.
Watch them, if you would, and see if your 2 very early frizzle-ing ones are girls. The boys are still as frizzled, just slower to feather. Just curiosity on my part
I hatch quite a few of them and sell them young. The obviously frizzled ones are 'Frizzles' as 4-day-olds to week-olds. I wonder if some of the ones I don't see frizzling early, might show frizzling later?

-0- eggs from the Naked Neck girls I moved --- I guess they can hold a grudge longer than I thought.
Actually, we are going thru some severe temp swings and all the girls are molting or coming out of molt. They'll come out of it soon.
