All right, y'all. My new chicks ship TOMORROW.

I have 6 fenale chicks coming from Meyer:
  • Easter Egger
  • Fibro Easter Egger
  • Crested Cream Legbar
  • Green Queen
  • Buff Laced Polish
  • Assorted Rare
The plan is to take these babies and give them to my ever-broody Silkies, Dandelion and Violet to adopt.

Violet has raised babies for me in the past. Dandelion will be a first-time mama.

Here are the broodies:

It's 9:37 in Ohio, and I have yet to receive shipping notification. This is the WORST part. I've had shopping disasters in the past. Not looking forward to opening the box...
That’s why I’ve never ordered chicks. Can’t stand the thought of them being tossed around during shipping. I’ve always gotten my chicks from tractor supply or rural king. Occasionally my local CO-OP has them. May not always get the breeds I want, but at least I can choose the ones I get.

I've done that most often. I wanted colored eggs this time as I sell eggs now. I checked 3 different tsc stores every week since February, but they never carried anything that laod colored eggs.

And I picked up 2 Leghorn pullets from tsc earlier this season. One is a cockerel. There is that, too: tsc and its notorious mix ups... I can't have any more boys, and rehoming has become extra roos had become increasingly difficult.

Yes, it’s difficult when you end up with Roos when you were hoping for pullets. I have 9 that are 9 weeks old and I’m know 1 is a roo and possibly another. Six more in the brooder so not sure about those yet.
