Ship date was today, Monday, and was notified by USPS of an arrival date by Saturday 9 pm

Thank you for your reply. My issue isn't wanting a replacement, it's that they callously shipped chicks to their painful death.

Thank you for your response. I hope this is the case and that they arrive before July 4th. I also ordered from Mt. Healthy. They only use 2-day priority shipping so I feel much more confident that they'll arrive Thursday as scheduled. I don't understand why all hatcheries don't use the same 2-day priority shipping--seems a neglectful at the least.
Most hatcheries won't guarantee in writing that the chicks will arrive in 2 days even if you pay for Priority Mail Express.

Has anyone had the experience of having a USPS arrival date six days after shipping? I ordered from Cackle Hatchery via The Chicken Coop Company who said they have no control over what the postal service does. I'm livid. Seems they're sending them off knowing that they will for sure be dead upon arrival. It makes me sick to think of their suffering, and needlessly. If holiday weeks create a problem for delivery of live animals, I don't get why they ship live animals on holiday weeks. So, I won't be picking up six dead chicks. It sickens me.
Chick tracking is slower than the chicks themselves, they'll likely be there tomorrow. Usps is just providing an estimate , no need to get upset.

The gel packs should keep the chicks alive until they arrive. Hatcheries don't want chicks to arrive DOA as it means they have to replace them. It is not intentional. Shipping during hot summer days is always a risk. Hoping the best for your little babies.

A recent experience I had:
Monday evening, notice of shipment from Metzer
Post Office estimated arrival on Saturday by 9pm
Package actually arrived on Tuesday Wednesday morning, LONG before Saturday.
Shipping was from Tennessee to Michigan

(Goslings not baby chickens, but that should have no effect on Post Office estimates and actual delivery times.)
[Edited because apparently I could not type the day of the week correctly.]

Did your chicks make it? Hopefully, yes, as the P.O. is closed today.

My hatching eggs are lost. It's been 9 days. Thank goodness it wasn't chicks!
