I know this thread is old, however I am experiencing the same thing with a chick I hatched at home.
It was a shipped egg, and had a heck of a time hatching. Pipped the wrong end and spent a great deal of time absorbing the yolk due to the very awkward position it was in.
I finally had to assist it to hatch as it was in there’s so long without any progress.
