Shipped egg dilema, water in eggs???

Quote:
Thanks! I now have 2 healthy vocal chicks out of eggs and another is zipping. I quickly candled the other 9 eggs and do not see any movement so I am fearing the worst. I am so saddened at the fact that a few days ago all eggs had moving chicks in them. It gets depressing to bring them so far, then have this happen. I just wish I had some broodie hens, But I dont, otherwise I would let mother nature do her thing instead of trying to play her role!

Don't give up, because they may have been resting. I tend to give it 3 days after the first one has hatched. You may have more hatching. You may have to chip the shell in they have already piped internally.

Oh well, chick #3 was so glued into his shell that even his eyes were crusted shut so off to the kitchen sink with a cup of warm warter and a small paintbrush we went! I brushed the warm water all around his head being carefull not to get any in his mouth or nose and then made it run off the brush and into the shell and out he popped! It took a bit of work, but I managed to get the eye opened and he is back in the bator drying and peeping. I took out the other eggs and poked a hole into the tops of each one but I was too late. 2 of them had managed to get thru the air sack but there must have been liquid in it and they had drowned but the others were dead without even have gotten through the membrane! Not sure, but the membranes seemed so thick on these eggs. I am not familiar with hatching a larger egg, only bantams and their membranes are much thinner. But that first chick that hatched is the freshest faced little chick! he definitely has an attitude look and is so adorable!
