Should I let shipped eggs sit for a day before putting them in incubator even if I place them upright in cartons into incubator?

I've heard this and done it for several years, however I now don't consider it necessary. I have had great hatches putting them directly into the incubator. If anything you could set them and not turn them for the first day, I figure there is little difference in setting on the counter or setting in the incubator. I also put all of my shipped eggs into racks that hold them with the aircell up for incubation, I think this helps if there are any tremulous aircells.

Do you leave them in the racks for hatching too? Thank you much for your advice!

No, I take them out and let them lay on their side. I have had a few hatch out in the rack prior to moving them to the hatcher and it didn't seem to bother them, but as a general rule I take them out.
