I ordered 12+ silkie eggs from 2 separate sellers off ebay .So I will have 24 + eggs coming. Both had very good reviews. I am so excited and nervous about these eggs! I hope they are all intact and I pray for a good hatch! I have wanted silkies for awhile now and love to hatch so wish me luck.

I have never hatched shipped eggs....I have read and read through all the posts on here and still not sure on turning in my auto turner or just setting in cartons for a week or so. I wanted to set some of my own mutt eggs but hate to not turn them and I hate to open the bator so much to hand turn them. I have a day to decide. Any advice from some seasoned hatchers of shipped eggs?

I would have told the post office that I would come and pick them up. The less chance they have to scramble my eggs the better. What I keep reading on shipping eggs is to let them sit for 24 hrs before you put them in the incubator. Then you would treat them like any other eggs once you start incubating. Good luck with your hatch. Just keep in mind that if you get 12 to hatch that is considered a good hatch for shipped eggs.

I wanted to but the tracking info was not up to date and by the time I got the email they were in they were out for delivery. I have a good mail lady and I am sure she will be kind to them. We are 15 miles from town so I hope they are all ok :) I would be thrilled with 12 :) Not gonna get my hopes up to much but I will feel better once I can candle to look at those air sacs!

I received 27 eggs in all...Not one broke! The air cell are moving in the majority of them but Quite a few are solid and a few are only moving a little. The one shipment was packed extremely well and the other was packed good but just not quite as good as the one. I am pleased so far. Letting them sit 24 hrs at least.
