Hi Chotii, I got my shipped silkie eggs yesterday. Like yours, they were very well packaged, but they must have had a rough trip. They only took two days from Pennsylvania to New Mexico, but at least 5, maybe 6, have detached air cells. I set them under my broody this morning, with my fingers crossed.
The last eggs that I had shipped were a dozen silkie eggs from Utah to NM, taking 3 days in the system. I was out of town when they arrived, so I had a friend get them from the post office and set them under the broody while I was gone. So I didn't candle them before I set them, and they came from the P.O. straight to the nest box. I don't know if any had detached air cells or not, but I'm sure some did. I candled once or twice during incubation to check for growth, and ended up with 8 out of 12 hatching. Out of the 4 that didn't hatch, 3 showed no development and 1 was a fully developed chick that didn't hatch. I thought that was pretty good to have 75% development and 67% hatch with shipped eggs.
Anyway... I'm just crossing my fingers that my current eggs hatch me a few babies. I'm thinking that I had a good hatch rate last time, with eggs with possible loose air cells, so I'm just hoping for the best this time.
Good luck to you and me both!
