Just got some shipped eggs from about 150 miles away. They seem pretty porous. Will they still hatch? Is there anything I should do differently in incubation for them? Im not used to the way they look, mine never have porous spots on them.

Thats interesting, I don't incubate but if you had a broody hen slip them under her she will know. What could it hurt to incubate them and candle on day seven surely you would know if they are good or not.

It could be the result in low calcium in the hen's diet. Or some birds just lay porous eggs.

They can still hatch. Just monitor it for odor/no development etc.

I am interested to know if your eggs hatched. I am facing the same issue.
Not sure about the OP, but I had a couple porous ones in my shipped eggs. I think only 1 developed & it quit about half way thru. This is just my 1st time hatching tho, so others may have better luck with porous eggs. Mine were also shipped & had a lot of loose air cells, so I'm sure that didn't help either.
