Shipped eggs laying flat...

He's very good at defending the coop! He had all of his long tail feathers ripped out while defending the coop about 2 months ago we had a raccoon breakthrough the fence

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I ordered faverolles. And I'd just love to get at least one rooster out of it

So I'm looking forward to having a docile rooster at least.
Eek. Don't completely pin your hopes on this.
This is my rooster and he's a turd.

He's beautiful! Yeah I was told that it all depends on their hormones and age. The only good rooster I've ever owned was missing an eye. He was a rescue rooster. And he was about 4 years old. Any young rooster that I've ever dealt with has always had an attitude!

My rooster will be 6 years old next month. Still a turd. A big one.

I never let my aggressive ones breed, so now I have too many friendly males 😅. If you don't get lucky, you can always search Craigslist. Usually there are people looking to rehome extras and sometimes they're nice but just can't stay at their current flock

Okay great! I only bought 10 eggs because this is my first time using this incubator. What's a good hatch rate for shipped eggs?
20 to 50 percent is good for shipping eggs, whereas locally sourced and/ or fresh laid eggs should have a 40 to 90 percent rate, and sometimes even all fresh eggs hatch.
