I just put two of my 7 ordered eggs into lock down. I candled all of them and 5 did not appear viable. I expected some development in a couple of them.
What I found was 2 of the eggs had the yolks attached to the side of the egg. I put them in the bator 6 hours after I got them. So it wasn't from me or the post office setting the eggs in one spot too long. I also used an automatic turner. So it wasn't like I forgot to turn them. There was no development at all in these two eggs. So infertile and old? Would that be a correct guess?
2 of the eggs had the yolks all busted on the inside (packaging was very very good so this would be a post office issue not from the seller).
1 egg had an intact yolk. No development at all. So infertile?
My guess is that out of seven I got at least 3 eggs that were not fertile.
The two eggs still in the incubator seemed to have candled all along like the pictures I have seen here. They aren't due to hatch until the 27th late. I am hoping to get something from them.
I did have a heat spike midway through the hatch. So if I have development in the remaining two and they don't make it, my fault. But should I or would you contact the seller about the possible infertile eggs? These weren't freaking cheap at all. I guess lesson learned. No more eggs in the mail for me.
Edited to add: These were turkey eggs.
