No, actually they were packed in thin sheet foam and then put in actual egg cartons. There was shredded foam around the cartons and also shredded paper in the shipping box. The box had a small dent on the corner, but I guess that's all it took to break the eggs. I told him that I would prefer that he bubble wrap them individually, then put large pouch-like bubble wrap in with them. He said he would pack them that way if I wanted him to resend them. To tell you the truth, I would not send that "open letter to egg shippers". I think it comes off as rude and I can see where someone could be offended. I would never presume to tell a person where they should buy their packing material. I would ask them how they ship their eggs first off (should've w/this seller, but I didn't know this would happen) and if they do not ship the way I would like, I'd ask them to. If they don't agree, I would not buy from them. My transaction with this seller will be ok, as he's offered to replace the eggs. In the end all I'll be out is the time needed to have another hen go broody. Lesson learned.
