shipped eggs?

    do you have to let the eggs sit for 24 hours before putting them in the bator. i will be setting them tomorrow afternoon.

    Most people let them sit 12-24 hours before incubating. If it is very hot out, I just put them right in the Bator asap.:)

    when can i put my shipped eggs into the bator? the oldest were collected on the 7th which makes them 10 days old today thanks to the stupid postal service they arrived late [​IMG] [​IMG]

    Might be a good idea to put them straight in, but don't turn them for the first 24 hours.
    That gives them time for the contents to settle but doesn't make them wait another day before starting incubation.

    ok i got my eggs in around 12:30 ish...do you think i could put them in the incubator at midnight tonight with the auto turner?

    It would be better to put them in now, but not in the turner until tomorrow .

    I've been told by everyone to let them sit for 24hrs.

    I agree, put them in ASAP but don't plug the turner in for a day or 2, depending on what the air cells look like when you candle them. personally i marked on the egg with pencil, tracing the outline of the 'broken' air cells, so i could keep track of how they were developing.

    why not with the turner on? wont that also effect their development with it off?

    also i have read on severl sites that 12 hours is long enough is this true?
