Shipped Eggs

I'm getting some eggs shipped to me for the first time and they should be arriving shortly. I'm wondering if there's a different protocol with incubating shipped eggs. I've read some people let them rest for awhile. How long? Any help would be appreciated. This is uncharted territory for me.

Shipped eggs typically have had a rough ride. When they arrive let them sit out to get room temperature for 8 hours or more. You can candle them and see if the air cell has detached. If it is floating around the egg, let them sit for 8 hrs to room temperature, set them in an egg carton with small side down so the egg shell stays at the top where it should be and don't turn for 3 days. Sometimes the air cell will attach. Most eggs with egg cell unattached do not hatch. Good luck!

Good luck with your shipped eggs Great advice there from spotsplus. I like to hatch them in cut down egg cartons too I just feel it keeps everything in place. I personally like the method but that's just my choice it's not everyone's cup of T.

Just wanted to update the thread for those who offered advice --
I had 7 eggs that I let rest about 48hours (a little long, but it just happened that way based on my schedule) and then didnt turn for 3 days, and today is hatch day! 3 out so far, 2 more pipped, and 2 that can't be seen very well but were doing okay as of a few days ago. Crazy success in my opinion! Thanks for your advice!
