I've found in the past that you can fit 2 hens in there decently. My boys are on the large side and would have to travel alone. You can also do about 30 day-old chicks or maybe 6-10 of the older 3-5 week old chicks in 1 of those boxes.

Yeah, I've done some serious searching for the cheapest Horizon boxes and that is the cheapest I have found them!​

Yes, email them for a shipping quote. I paid, I believe, $16.50 or so, and also purchased $100 insurance since I got them via parcel post. The boxes only took 6 days to get here.
