Shipping chicks with heating pad??

We have chicks shipped express with heat packs all the time..not from them but from breeders.The heat packs work great and will be warm for days after you get the chicks so I toss it in the brooder with them when they get here.All hatcheries should offer express shipping no matter the size of the order.It's a huge difference with the chicks that arrive within hours vs 2 days.

I did exactly this with Meyer about 3 weeks ago. I ordered only 3 chicks! We are only allowed 15 total hens in our area, so a small order was essential. They put in the heating pad and the three fuzzies arrived a day later. This is the actual box that they were shipped in. The heating pad looked a bit like those hand warmers that you use when skiing, only a bit bigger. I took it out for the picture.

Trying to figure out where the heating pad goes. Was it placed under the 'nest' material or in the 'nest' with the chicks?
