Ok so my chicks are six days old and when i take them out of the brooder they shiver. i know they arent cold because in my house its around 70-75 and i have the heat lamp on them at alll times.....when i hold them and i breathe warm air on them they shiver..... are they shivering because they are cold or because they are scared??

I think all chicks do that,...I don't think it's shivering,...maybe more like vibrating. Or maybe its like a cat purring,...really I have no idea, but I know ours do it too,...even after they are good size. Nothing to worry about,....

They are scared. Keep holding them and they will get use to it and be total sweethearts when they are a little older. My RIR was like this. Now she jumps up in my lap at 7 weeks of age.
