hes a lab mix..or something. total mutt. ill take a picture of him tomorrow..but again..at least hes housebroken. that is the weirdest thing too because we didnt housebreak him, he has never once went inside the house so whoever had him and dumped him must have trained him somehow.
Glad to hear about the training classes, i think with regular exercise and some training you might have a great dog on your hands maybe you can teach him to bring you stuff you need a pop or your slippers make him your dog and see what DH thinks of that. good luck glad you are giving him a chance I am sure he will do okay and might turn into the best dog you have ever had.
Boy did I have a mouthful to say...but I'll be nice... in brief... the dogs not stupid (He's especially not stupid cause YOU left the window open)
so you really shouldn't continue to referr to him as the stupid dog all the time. The negative energy can be picked up by the dog. Try to maintain a positive attitude toward the dog and I think you'll end up enjoying the experience training and working with him.
I would not recommend that anyone use a e-collar on a dog without being instructed on how to use it by a professional trainer.
I use a e collar on my dogs, but they also already know the commands. The one I have has a beeper function on it. So, the dogs know to come when they hear the beeper, this way at 4am, I'm not out there yelling for the dog to come in, I just beep, and they come running.

Some dogs you don't have to housetrain. They just KNOW where they live and where you live and understand that they go outside. My first MacKenzie was like that. We got him at 3 months and never did a word of housebreaking, he did it himself.
Your dog is a lot smarter than you give him credit for...lol And as for being a mutt, they're the best
And SillyChicken is right, the dog KNOWS you don't like him. Wouldn't you want to run away from someone that didn't like you?
Have your husband read this thread. If he sees how much you really dislike this dog, maybe he will find a new home for it. I think the dog deserves better than this. JMO. Sorry if I'm being harsh, but I just get tired of hearing people place all of the blame on the animal when they are in the wrong.
