Sometimes all we can do is make them feel safe and comfortable after an attack like that. If she was internally bleeding, there is not anything else you could have done. At least she is not in pain anymore

Sorry that you lost her. I would agree that she may have had internal injuries or a hemorrhage that caused her death. There probably was nothing you could do for her, other than trying to make her comfortable. Having seen an eagle swoop down to get a fish right next to my fishing boat once, they are enormous powerful raptors against a small hen.

Given the speed an eagle will come down on a bird on the ground I suspect the impact would be great. I agree with the others, you did what you could and it is doubtful anyone could have done more for her.

I know this was a couple months back, but this is going on with my girl right now and I appreciate you leaving your experience up for others. I am sorry you lost your girl. I am praying mine can pull through.
