I just managed to get the photos onto my page - this 'computer' stuff isn't easy for me! I haven't gotten them onto the thread yet - so if you want to see the bags I make, go to my page.

These bags, and the dog and cat food ones, are a real hit at the grocery store. I've used them for years now, and they last a LONG time. I can imagine how long they'd take to break down in the landfil:(

Those are wonderful! What a fun idea. Unfortunately I use a local feed and they are in paper bags.... hmmmm. Gonna have to check the dog food bag.

Yes, I just did a little shopping this morning, and my bags were greatly admired, AGAIN - I thought everybody in my community's seen them by now, but I guess not.

Click on my page to see the most recent bags, from chicken feed.

I also make the totes out of cat and dog food bags. That company, purina, uses the tarp type bag for almost all of their feeds. And the pictures are nice. The cat food ones have several different pictures. All cute! I should post more pix, but that is very tedious - I need some lessons!

These are great. I have been meaning to make some of these for a long time, I have saved feed bags the pink purina goat feed ones are my favorite. But I am just getting my sewing area set back up. Have you ever checked out www.sewingmamas.com Its a great forum for anyone who sews! I am coveredbydesign on there. I also have saved the safeway priority brand cat and dogfood bags as they are a similar material. Keep up the great work.

Excellent idea! And for those who don't want too many handbags I made shade tarps out of mine. I simply used plastic ties to attach to the chicken wire. A temporary solution for sure, but will be perfect for me because when cold weather arrives I can take them down and let the sun shine in my pen area.
