I have chickens for about 3 years now (15 chickens and dwindling).
They are in a fenced in run.
They get eaten by hawks. (1 a week now)
I will be building a covered run this summer.
Thinking about getting a goose as guard.
I built my own coop. Will post pictures later.
I need hatching eggs soon.
I live in Maryland.

Contrary to what this intro may imply, English is my first language. :)

Hello there and welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry you are having trouble with hawks. I had the same issue years ago and use a good poultry netting over their area. I have since built a completely enclosed run.

Good luck and welcome to our roost! :)

I'm sorry to say that I don't believe you will have any chickens by the time you build a covered run. Predators have counted on your easy pickins. They will not give up till all are gone. They will also be the first to notice when you restock.
