Should 3 mos old chickens be leaving feathers in the run?

I kerp finding long fearhers in the run but do not see any patches of missing feathers on my 3 mos old chickens bodies. It has been consistentky between 104. - 110 here in AZ. They look and act healthy. Feathers are shiny. Is this normal.

Hi, I'm in AZ. also. The other's above are right. They will replace feather's in different partial molt's as they start growing in the adult feather's that they will have. It's supposed to be a few degrees cooler next week according to the weather report, and I hope that they are right about that.

My gang of young ones are just over 3 months and it looks like there was a huge pillow fight. Feathers everywhere but they're all healthy and no bare patches. Just making room for the next set of grownup feathers!
That is very reassuring

Thanks for this question, and the good information!
My run has a lot of feathers but all of my young birds (~17 weeks) look fine and healthy.
It’s reassuring to know this is normal in young hens! This forum is great for those of who are new to keeping chickens!
