Crowing is a form of communication. I'm just curious what people think about when your rooster crows, should you crow back? I read something about how when multiple roosters are housed together the order in which they crow indicates dominance... So to teach the rooster you are dominant should you crow first? Just kind of a funny, silly question I have been thinking about.

i'd pay to see the look on neighbors' faces if they could see you doing that.

I have never thought about that. I guess it would show dominance, but i have never tried it. You should try and tell us how it goes. Thats an interesting thought.

I wouldn't crow at the Rooster....He might give you a flogging?....My Son is 26 and he crowed to mine and Lester my Huge Brahma was across the yard in about 2 seconds...He never attacked him but told him off .....That is up to you if you crow to yours though....

I mean if he was inside a pen, like mine is. I do crow sometimes at him when I'm in the pen but he just looks at my like, "yeah right. You're not a rooster, so quit acting like it," mostly because he knows that when I'm wearing my brown boots it means that I am the dominant one. He attacks pink crocs, sandals, other people, black boots, hawks, umbrellas, coats, dogs, sand box lids, card board boxes, pretty much anything. but not my brown boots. If he's not in a pen and super aggressive don't crow at him! :)

I have a neighbor who comes over and does that...I wish she wouldn't. Kind of don't want any roosters thinking they are the same as humans etc.
