Should a quail be able to stand up on it's own at 12 or so hours old?

Get some nutridrench. That stuff works miracles. I give newly hatched chicks a drop every 8 hours or so. I had a chick that couldn't stand after my last hatch and it kept flipping on it's back when it tried. I gave it a drop of nutridrench and in 5 minutes it could hold its head off the floor without flipping over.

Ok I am going to look into that was jjst reading vitamin d too but I will give both a shot. I made him those little shoes with bandaid and I felt so bad he cldnt even move with those on so after 12 hours I took them off. I've tried to stretch out his feet and massage them straight as much as I can but he has slept almost the entire day. Dont think he slept great with those bandaid on last night. He seems to be weak but I'm hand feeding him and giving him water so I know hes getting enough of both.

You may want to modify the design so he can walk. What I've seen is a little foot-shaped piece of cardboard under the foot, with the toes taped to the top of it, like a snowshoe. You want him to be able to walk around some so he can get to food and water and can move if the temperature isn't right.

Thank you I tried the bandaid and they have seemed to help a little at least but he wasnt able to get comfortable to sleep with them on so I took them off after 12 hours or so. Hoping hes nlt so sleepy tomorrow so I can try to work with him to stand hes slowly improving though! I'm wondering why this has happened it was my first time incubating but I've done so much research and tried to do everything right. Like I posted I did get him from an Asian market after being refridgerated for God knows how long. I wanna keep doing this but its killing my heart.
