I got some chicks from my local TSC last week and yours sound just like mine. I think mine are golden comets. See if you can find a pic of those chicks online and see if that is right.

We don't have a TSC store around here...Oh how I wish we did--one with baby chicks..lol

I have yet to find a feed store or anything around here that orders chicks..Well I should say find a store that buys and then sells the baby chicks. Around here you have to pre-order them (only on certain days). They don't order any extra, and if you aren't there to get your chicks someone else will get them...They don't seperate either. So I could order cochins, but then if I don't know what they look like as babies I could end up bringing home leghorns and someone else would of gotten my cochins (that's just an example).

<------------------------------------Canadian here so can you explain LOl you mean you can walk into a TSC store and they have chicks sitting out to buy like out in the open ? I have never seen that here they have bio security in effect you can only order from feed store then pick up your order , they say it keeps desease down ect blablabla LOl I would love to be able to walk in and buy fuzzy butts. Oh i am a former Texan been here only a few yrs but when i was in the states i remember seeing chicks when i was young at the stores.

Yes, having a TSC is nice....but then you end up with 19 chickies! I wish they had them 3/1.00!! Just started this year with chickens and thanks to TSC I have 8 gold comets, 3 Blk. Aust., 2 wh. leghorns, 1 RIR, 1 polish banty, 2 diff color OEGB, and a lil red not sure the breed banty. Thanks a lot TSC...

Yeppers. They keep them in cattle water tanks with lights on them. Must have had 500 chicks last night. Most are in the $4 range. I guess nobody wants the older ones. I don't care!
