Last year we finished making our chicken coop (big undertaking) - it has a pvc feeder, front porch for us to view from our house, electricity (thank you Derek) - heated water bowl and heat lamp - honestly it is a chicken palace.....

Our girls are great and I find this site a huge help

the front of the coop with the porch

door looking in at the porch

side door for cleaning and changing water

back door - ramp the girls use

how are ramp is attached

looking in the back door

side doors closed - mirror image on the other side for access

chickens helped the whole time

made a door to close off the porch when it is really cold_this year I am planning on a larger door to close off the whole front when the weather is bad

chicken playground

fruits of our labor

next post I will show the upper inside - has a large cross roost and the electrical portion

let me know what you think-I found pages like this really helpful when planning a design

Thanks so much for posting your pics. We have just finished our tractor and are trying to figure out how to attach our chicken ramp so that we can remove it when moving the coop. Is yours removable also?

It took us a day to get the design just right but when we figured it out it was easy. The ramp comes off easily and its only held up by the piece of wood that we angled. They figured it out right away-that is the only door that I left open and once one did it they all did. The door for the ramp is hinged so that I can pull it back so the wind doesn't whip it around. (go the idea from our shed) They were glued to our heels he whole time like little supervisors during construction.
