Should I add a Rooster to my flock?

Thank you! & me, too!
Praying it's more that he's gonna be more on they shy side with it and be quieter rather than that he's saving it all up and gonna unleash a torrent of it when he finally does! 😲🤪
So at almost 20 weeks now he's figured it out! 🥴 But at least it's not all day. Today's only the 2nd time I've heard him. And that's because he was right outside our front door, standing in the front porch flower beds. He showed off for my husband who was home for lunch & crowed multiple times. Dear hubby was OH so proud of Lil' Buddy (he named him. I told him we'll have to start calling just "Buddy" because he is no longer anywhere near little! But I digress...).
My husband then told him he could crow to his heart's content as dh says they're outnumbered around here & need more testosterone flowing. 😁
I have to add, though, the older hens are not nearly as thrilled with Buddy's testosterone flowing! He's been trying to mate them (unsuccessfully I might add) & when he tries to mount one, the other 3 literally attack him!!
I told him he had some work to do in the Romancing Dept, so we'll see how that develops. But for now, he's "Rooster" non-grata with them.

Lol! They def have to learn how to be the man the hens want & accept. I also learned through hatching under a broody that he has favorites too. One of our prettiest hens is not one he likes! None of her eggs were fertilized. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh wow! Good to know!

I knew they had favorites, but didn't realize they'd be some they may not have anything to do with (unless the hen didn't like them & just wasn't having it). Definitely, something I'll have to keep in mind as time goes on.

Thanks for the info & God bless!
