Thanks for your reply. I think I came up with a plan, we'll see how it works. During the daytime hours of 7 to 3 while I'm at work the buffs will be out in the run. The chicks will be in the coop during this time. At 3 when I get home (so I can monitor the situation) the chicks will go into a cage in the coop until the next day at 7. The time from 3 to 8:30 the door to the coop will be open and the buffs can visit with the chicks. The EE chicks seem to be behind in their size compared to the buffs at the same age.

Buffs are buffier than EEs. That's just the way it is.
