I have a duck egg that pipped externally on Sunday may 17. Last night I noticed another break in the shell a few cm away but no thing since.
It is day 26 and they have been in lock down since Sunday night when I noticed this egg had an external pip.

my question is that I don’t know exactly when it externally pipped. I noticed at about 9pm on Sunday. So it could be 48 hours since external pip. Should I help it? Or leave it?

How does the membrane look? White? Yellow? Is the pip's placement good? Can you see any yawning or chewing motions?

The membrane that I can see looks white. The pip is in a good spot. Near the top and top side of the egg (let me know if that’s good). I don’t see anything inside as it’s more of a crack in the egg.
I already put a tiny hole - just incase. AD7E235F-5CD4-48BA-93C4-9784D9A2C43D.jpeg

Yeah it looks like the pip is good. How long since no progress? If it were mine, I would run a hot steamy shower, take it in the bathroom, and open up the air cell very carefully. Stay in the air cell. The rub some coconut oil on the membrane so you can see through it. Look for veins. Post a pic of what you see when you open the air cell. Good luck! Just mist the other eggs with sime warm water when you open and close the incubator.

It’s been almost 48 hours since the first pip and then almost 24 hours since the second crack at the top

I looked at the egg. Had it out for under 30 seconds so hopefully it’ll be okay.
I didn’t see any veins but there’s definitely still movement and I could hear the duckling pecking at the shell.
So I quickly put it back!

I’m excited. But I can’t believe how worried I am about all of them!! I just want them all to make it out okay!
I know! Isn't it incredible how attached we get to eggs? Lol. I mean, there's chicks in the eggs, but we just see eggs 😂
I hope they all hatch!
