Should I be concerned?!

O definitely!!! They aren't exactly due to hatch immediately... And the not looking paid off! The first one is still just a pip but another one is zipped and my children are enthralled!!! And they are so quiet and gentle and making sure not to bump the incubator or anything. They are worried it's too weak but I told them it just needs breaks cuz it's hard work. Amazing!!!
Keep waiting..Not an exact science because your incubator could be off a little..

It's all good, all normal. Just breeeeeeathe! :love

The chicks need to learn to use their lungs....now you use yours!:lau

Hey, I've hatched at least a dozen times and was just as ridiculously nervous-excited-fit to explode on the last hatch as I was on the first. I know how you feel, we all do. Hang on in there and did I mention? SIT ON THOSE HANDS!!!!! :hugs:celebrate:wee:wee:wee

How are your eggs doing? My first pip is still that...a first pip. But now I have a couple zipped and looks more pips.... They are coming along it seems and saw eggs moving etc also. Hoping to see at least one chick in the morning but maybe they need a night of sleep also
Best wishes!!! Looking forward to hearing how yours did

Mixed breeds really hard to say what these are. Getting concerned now as there is only a small crack like circle and no definite hole. It's been over 24 hours since this started so I don't think it's looking good

Hoping it goes good for you!!!

My first pip is still a pip also... But some others have pipped, zipped and hatched... Looking like 5 that are good maybe so far. The one I'm not sure about.. Does the eggshell stick on for awhile and it take a while for the second half to come off?
I guess they didn't all need over night sleep like I did. But it looks like some are much faster than others? Is that how chicks are? Some speedy and some take a long time?

Part of my question is answered in that it can take a bit for the chick to come free from the second half of egg. It's much more loose than it had been... Almost out. Now it's time to go away for a bit... We'll see what happens ....when we get back.

Well, I believe we are up to about 14 chicks now out of 34eggs left. Unfortunately while we were gone this evening the humidity got way too high... I think it killed some. And one chick was dead also that was fully hatched. We'll see if any more hatch... Hoping I have the humidity under control... Btw my first broody ever to hatch has hatched at least 3... Looking forward to seeing how many more there are tomorrow.
