We lost a 1 year old chicken this week to what I thought might be a reproductive issue, but I'm worried it might be something different. The pictures are from 3 different chickens. TIA

Hi

Yellow poop is often a sign of a parasite. It can be coccidiosis or worms. It looks foamy. There's some good articles on chicken poop. It may lead you to the cause and the treatment.

Good luck!

Welcome to BYC! :frow

Sorry for your loss. :hugs

Having a necropsy done by your state poultry lab is the best way to get answers when worried about disease. Sometimes doing your own can tell you quite a bit including reproductive condition.

Only large round worms and tape worms will ever be visible in droppings to the naked eye. All others will stay inside the intestinal tract and only their microscopic oocysts (eggs) will pass.. even then sometimes intermittently. Still having a fecal float done and discussing YOUR parasite load with a vet familiar with your soil type, wildlife load, stock density, Other species kept on the same ground, weather pattern, etc and see what their recommendation for internal parasite control is.

Every chicken carries some coccidia load naturally occurring in their gut. Coccidiosis.. is an overgrowth caused by ingesting excess sporrulated eggs.. perhaps from feeding on the ground where they poop.. and easily spread in brooders.

Did you have another thread regarding the symptoms and passing of your first lady? If so please link here. If not, please describe breed, symptoms, how long they lasted, what you did to treat, and any other information that might be helpful to see if there may have been other concerns than reproductive or which type of reproductive condition it was.

What do you feed including treats and supplements?

Hope the rest continue to thrive! :fl
