Don't always look for something to be wrong when your chickens don't give you the eggs you think you should be getting. On average chickens lay 230 - 300 eggs a year. Some chickens lay more (closer to 320) some chickens lay less (less than 200). This doesn't mean you will get 230/300 days with eggs all in row.
Just like with the human female body there are cycles in a chickens body. The machine that makes eggs sometimes needs to slow down or even stop. The energy is then used to help something in another part of the chickens body. Wether it be some minor illness we don't see, the need to regrow feathers or just a general rejuvination of the chickens over all health. It could also be a fact of too many treats and not enough layer feed. Any number of fairly normal factors can contribute.
One other thing to consider is egg eating. If you can't be there to watch or to collect the eggs early in the day chickens will eat their own eggs. That is a habit once started that will be very hard to break.
One thing is for sure - chickens keep us on our toes!
