I decided to put my chicks out in the coop because they were fully feathered. Now is is 48* and raining all day long and night and I wonder if I should bring them back inside? I sort of feel bad for them. But should I feel bad? I'm not sure!

They are probably ok, but if you are really worried you could run an extension cord out to the coop and hang a heat lamp. Just make sure the heat lamp is secure. I had the heat lamp drop one night and it burnt a hole in a roost. Thankfully it did not burn the coop down with all the chickens in it.

I thought about doing that, but where it is pouring rain I am afraid of electrocuting myself!

If they have dry shelter out of the wind and rain, they will be fine. Bringing them into and out of warmer temps will do more damage to them than leaving them out to adapt naturally.

they were getting a little wet bc i think it was dripping somewhere. even though I covered the top with a rubber roofing stuff, it was dripping in somewhere I think. because my silkies crest was wet. nobody else was wet though. The only other thing is the ground is wet so they are having wet feet. They need a roost. I'm going to have to make a roost today so that they can not get chilled. Until then, I just put a plastic box inside that hopefully they'll go in there to stay dry.
