Should I buy eggs or wait it out?

You
No need to apologize.  Everyone needs to vent now and then.  Hope things work out.  :hugs

Cheeka, you had quite a day!  Is the new shed going to be a shed or a coop?  I have heard that the d'Uccles and d'Anvers roosters can be little pills.  Seems to be part of the breed.  At least they're small enough to fend off easily.  Sorry to hear that Ruth had a bad day.  She is lucky to have you to help her out.  Hope you both have a good time tomorrow.

So hard to wait!  Are their faces turning red yet?

What breed are they again?

Last night i was out late and totally forgot to make sure someone shut the chickens in. This morning I woke up at 5 am thanks to a thunderstorm. I went downstairs and looked out the window to see if anyone had shut the coop. No one had, but also the run door was hanging open. I went out in the pouring rain to try and figure out if everyone was there but I was unable to account for all of them, it was tough too because they were pretty unwilling to come out into the rain. Their food is mush now too...gross.

So....I guess later I will go out again and try to figure out if they are all there. I counted a couple of times and came up short but with them all running around it is tough to say. I'm so mad right now. I want to strangle whoever left the door open.

that's rough mortie! I hope they're all there!!!

smhoekzema, that one looks beyond close. are you sure they aren't laying in a hidden nest??? I would check under things and around corners... you might find a small stash, but if not, I would bet you'll find eggs this week!

W4W, for now, the shed is for storage of their supplies. it has no ventilation or windows. not that I couldn't modify it over the summer...

Ugh can't wait to this weekend. I'm gonna move my babies to the outside pen. I'll use the dog crate to keep them separated for a week or so. But they are getting too big for the brooder and knock over the food and water all the time!!!

Don't know what I'm going to do if my eggs hatch. Out of the 5 I candled today all look like they are developing. Tho I'm too much of a novice to know if the quit at any point.
